Analyst/Consultant

Woodbine Associates is currently seeking ambitious securities industry professionals with trading, business management, risk management, business strategy, and legal backgrounds for analyst/consultant roles.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals with extensive knowledge of the capital markets and financial instruments.  Much of our work involves discussing financial markets information with industry professionals and synthesizing this information into published research and proprietary studies, providing thought leadership, and leading/participating in consulting engagements.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Solid industry expertise (10 + years experience at a broker/dealer, financial institution, exchange, etc.)
  • Experience as a front-office manager, trader, quant, risk manager, compliance or legal professional   
  • Evidence of thought leadership and a desire to contribute to the evolution of the industry
  • The ability work independently.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent facility with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.  Database experience (MS Access, SQL) and  knowledge of advanced statistical/analytical programs a plus.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; fluency in an Asian or European second language is a plus. 

Responsibilities include:
  • Interview financial markets professionals about various significant business, strategy, regulatory, and market        structure topics confronting industry practitioners in the current market
  • Structure and analyze information gathered via interview, survey and/or other means;  ascertain critical issues, concerns, and trends
  •  Write research reports based upon these findings.
  • Handle ad hoc queries from customers and prospects
  • Manage strategic consulting engagements for clients (institutional brokers, money management firms, solutions vendors), with content related to the broad area of trading for equity and/or derivatives markets
